You can’t have morality without God. Being an Atheist just so you can sin and do as you please is an eternal evil..

Who says I don’t have morality? Who says I “sin and do as I please”? Seriously, you don’t know me very well.

It always amazes me when people of faith honestly believe that atheism equals an inherent lack of morals. Would it be fair to draw the conclusion from the logic posed in this email that the ONLY thing keeping these religious people from killing and cheating on a spouse and doing other ‘sinful’ acts is the fear of their creator’s vengeance? Personally, I consider myself an atheist and a humanitarian. It isn’t fear of some omnipotent repercussion that makes me a good person, but the inherent knowledge of right and wrong. Is it the argument of this person that without their god, they wouldn’t be able to make moral decisions of their volition?

Being a moral Atheist, in my opinion, is better than being a moral Theist because we don’t need the threat of Hell and Daddy looking over our shoulders. And simple logic can lead one to being an Atheist. I have never met an Atheist who is an Atheist simply so (s)he “may sin and do as (s)he pleases”. However, there are many Christians who are Christian simply because of the ‘Just In Case Atheists Are Wrong’ argument.
