In response to a number of comments I received on tracts #6 and #7 (and with a reminder that I’d appreciate comments left on the blog instead of e-mailed, if possible), I now present tract #8, How Do You Annoy a Christian? It’s ready for you to download and review. Download it, see page #3 for printing instructions, and let me know your comments! Thanks!

How Do You Annoy a Christian?

If you’re an atheist and you aren’t interested in intelligent discussion but just want to irritate a nearby Christian, we offer you a number of phrases to choose from. (Use as your own risk.)

Hrm. But what *did* Noah do with all the feces? If this question annoys you (not *you* you, but the person being asked) then perhaps you don’t quite understand how the world works. Even children will wonder what the lions ate…

    So funny.
I’ve got a loony god botherer harassing me every day now, and i’ve just about given up trying to be nice to him, so a few insulting one-liners like these will help no end.
    thanks a lot.

Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your article seem to be running off the screen in Ie. I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with web browser compatibility but I figured I’d post to let you know. The design look great though! Hope you get the issue resolved soon. Cheers

What i find annoying as an atheist and a member of the British humanist association is when people ask me what religion i am and i say none i am an atheist and a humanist they say what type of religion is a humanist. I also get annoyed when Jehovah’s W’s try to convert me to their way of thinking and push the bible under my nose and quote passages from the bible, and try to tell me that Darwin became a religious person after he published his book on evolution and natural section (Origins of the species) to my knowledge this is not true his wife was a very religious woman so he was careful not to offend her regarding his findings through his studies that is why i think it took him so long about 20 years to publish his book as he knew the that it would such an uproar which it did in Victorian Britain as at that time religion was very strong and God was said to be the divine creator.

“Do you believe in the Easter Bunny, too?”

“We’re all atheists. I just believe in one less god than you do.”
This one doesn’t make much sense …

“If God’s all good, why’d he make malaria?”
Before the fall of man there was no disease.

“Where did Cain’s wife come from?”
This on isn’t fun to answer, however you should have no problem with it, as you are an atheist. He had to choose one of his sisters, the law concerning incest had not been created yet.

“Pi is 3. It’s in the Bible.”
Unfortunately I am not an engineer, but this looks appropriate:

“God has breasts and wings. It’s in the Bible.”
Where at? God has no form.

“The Bible says rabbits chew their cud and bats are birds. It’s in the Bible.”

“Slavery’s okay. It’s in the Bible.”
There is slavery in the bible, what you likely referring to is African American slaves in specific, however that would be “man stealing” and is punishable by death in the bible.
Wouldn’t slavery be classified as “survival of the fittest”?

“Donkey’s sometimes talk. It’s in the Bible.”
True, there is a talking donkey in the bible.

“If Methuselah was such a great guy, why did God let him die in Noah’s flood?”
Methuselah died in the same year God judged the sinful world with the great Flood of Noah’s day. Rabbis say that the ark waited 7 days(Genesis 7:10) for the “shiva” or mourning period, which lasts 7 days.

“What did Noah do with all the poo on the ark?”
Well, the animals likely went into a sleep(like a bears hibernation). But if not, is impossible that they threw it overboard?

“If you walk at an average speed of three miles an hour and rest 18 hours every day, you can circle the globe in 40 years. That must have been one big desert!”
For disobeying God they had to wander in the desert for 40 years until the generation died off.

“God would have had to stop the Earth to make the sun stand still in the sky, and if he did that momentum would throw everyone off the planet.”
Then God could have stopped the momentum. :) a bit too simple but it’s practical. In fact what you would want to worry about would be the flooding, since the oceans carry momentum(I don’t think we ourselves could be thrown off, I could, of course be wrong]).

“So lobster’s an abomination but you can eat locusts?”
While I see your logic, lobsters are bad for you, and bugs contain excellent nutrients(no, I don’t eat locusts)

“There’s a psalm blessing people who crush babies with rocks.”
This is taking the verse out of context.

“You know that the end of Mark is a forgery, right?”
    Not until you mentioned it.

“Jesus only had one human parent, so he would have been a clone of Mary.”
God could have easily fabricated genes.

“If Jesus is God, and God got Mary pregnant, then Jesus got his own mother pregnant.”
You tangled this up pretty easily. If by “got pregnant” you mean there was a literal s*x act, you are mistaken.

“Why is Jesus such a jerk to his mom?”
Ok, yes he seems a little bit harsh. However, he wasn’t a “jerk” .

“Jesus hung around with a bunch of guys, never got married, and talked about his dad all the time. Are you sure he was against homosexuality?”
Darn, looks like through your logic Christians shouldn’t have male friends. Yes homosexuality is a sin, and since Jesus was sin-less, he could not have been homosexual.

“How did Jesus ride into Jerusalem on two animals at the same time? Was he an acrobat?”

“If Sunday morning is three days after Friday night, then is tomorrow morning two days from now?”
Frankly I’m too tired to look this one up. Please provide a reference.

“If Jesus turned water into wine, then why is there still water?”
Seriously? Jesus obviously didn’t turn all the water into wine.

“Jesus said that some of his contemporaries would still be alive when he returned. How’d that work out?”
    Please provide a reference.(it’s like 3AM)

“Why don’t the Gospels agree about who found the empty tomb or what Jesus’ last words were? That seems kind of important.”
They do agree, I suppose that only relevant to the account people would have been included.

“Have you given away all your stuff and abandoned your family like Jesus said to?”
Are you referring to Mathew 19:21, if so you’re using it out of context.

“Hitler thought he was doing God’s work, too.”
Godwin’s law. So what? If I decide that I am going to randomly kill people and take their possessions in the name of the survival of the fittest does that make me an athiest? oops it does, sorry. I don’t see how you would believe that a god-less man could be Christian, it is well known that Nazi’s used propaganda to control the audience.

    “So, how about those Crusades?”
    It’s a long story.
Any action done by someone claiming to be Christian that is against the bible obviously is wrong.

Everything you said to answer those questions dont make sense, Methuselah dying before the flood was just convenient, god says children are innocent, how many children did he kill in the flood that was supposed to purge the guilty? the slavery comment you made, that its survival of the fittest, thats what happened, back in the day when people kidnapped the Africans and brought them to America to be slaves, that was survival of the fittest so the bible says that slavery is ok, if you take into account the time frame the bible must have been written BY MAN, everything in the bible makes sense, woman are there to serve men, thats a classic sexist idea that was commonly held by everyone at that time, Slavery was used then too, if you want to believe in god I respect your right to do so, I find the comments IAMANATHIESt wrote funny but I would never say them, but you went on this thread knowing what it was about just to leave a comment against it, I would never go on a thread titles CHRISTIANITY to leave a comment against it because I have a respect for peoples religion and right to believe in what they want, I just expect that same respect from Christians which sadly I never get.

I bet you don’t even know that Elohim (Hebrew for the Jewish biblical deity) actually is PLURAL for God (meaning GODS) XD

Yep… looks like you need to get out more. Leave the trailer park and actually learn that there are OTHER cultures out there, with OTHER god/desses, etc that you dismiss as “false.”

Even though they provide just as much proof as you do of your fictional deity. lol

I say, you can have fufilling sex if you take ecstacy… But we don’t do that all the time and try to force others to do the same?…..why does god give us free will then get pissed when we use it?…… Why does god give us human nature then tel us we must deny it to please him?… Religion is a placebo fire the weak……religious people are junkies and addicts too… The only difference is the drug they use…….

For over a year. I have been searching for a ‘killer question’ to ask Christians. I seem to have found it by asking.
“why does God allow bad things to happen to good people!”

An omnipotent, benevolent God could easily give warning of a
sudden natural disaster (for example. , earthquakes, floods, hurricanes and their ensuing problems of homelessness famine and disease )
In the last 2000 years there have probably been
    20,000 incidents.
At least 1 million sufferers.including close friends and family
And yet, a merciful God has not intervened once to warn people of these events and. Allow us to reduce the suffering For me, this is evidence enough that there is no benevolent, omnipotent omniscient God

First , this is my understanding of a few basic Christian beliefs.
    God is omnipotent (all powerful).
God is omniscience (knows everything, including our thoughts).
God can see the future and make accurate prophecies.
If he cannot do these things. Why call him god! ?

I have been on to Google to ask questions like “why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?”. we must assume that the answers are made by sincere and devout Christians who are interested in this question, we must also assume that these answers are the best that they can do.
Here are some of their answers(my reaction is in brackets)
First, It is acknowledged that this is a difficult question, particularly popular with atheists
“There are no good people!” (not even one exception? I resent that. And so should you)

“The worst misery is merciful compared with what we deserve. We deserve to go to hell. “(is this an example of Christian kindness and mercy?

“A better question is “why do good things happen to bad people?”(this person is saying “that’s not fair!, they don’t deserve it!” it is childish and pathetic)

“There is more good than evil“(so that justifies letting people suffer)

“”it is presumptuous to question him.” (The is the attitude of a dictator. You mustn‘t think for yourself or question my authority!)
“whatever God does is by definition right.” another obscene assertion that justifies nothing

“there is no innocent suffering-babies are sinners by nature and will sin someday” (so let’s give them their punishment in advance. All parents love their children. I find such a belief sickening This is the statement of a stupid ,cruel and emotionally disturbed madmen)

“it will all be all right some day (tell that to a starving baby( I think this is an attempt to keep us quiet for now)

“Suffering makes us realise that we need God” (love your tormentor – an obscene notion typical of a sadomasochist)

“He does not cause bad things – he suffers too “(so that makes it all right for starving babies).

“He has given control to Satan to show how only he has the right to rule” (I cannot make any sense of this. Why would he give control to somebody evil?) I cannot follow the thinking of this person.

“He does it to test our patience.” (and we really need that don‘t we?)

“We choose to do bad things” (even babies suffering in a famine? What has this to do with the question?)

We suffer to test our strength (life is hard enough without this)

“he allows bad things to happen to everybody– not just good people.” (So that makes it okay. this is a particularly stupid response)

A similar but slightly different question

Why does God allow natural disasters?

“you have lots of time without disasters” (isn’t that good enough for you?. Stop whingeing)

God make all things work together for good for those who love him. Bad things happen because sin = hell is in the world. We, man and woman, brought it i n the world. Why didn’t God stop us? Because he gave us free-will! He wants us to CHOOSE HIM!! If he just made us do good and live a Christ-Like life, how would we ever truly love him. I agree, suffering babies and “unfair” things that happen in our lives are heartbreaking and they break God’s heart too. He doesn’t want us to suffer! He loves us! Unfortunately, we don’t know all of God’s plan, so why things happen is beyond my understanding.

Also, just to clarify, GOD LOVES YOU. Whether you are gay, straight, a murder, an atheist, or whatever. He hates sin!! Not you! You were made in his Image. when you sin, he still loves you! Remember, Jesus died for your sins. Anyone that tells you God hates a certain type of person is wrong. He hates the sin that comes from that. You may hate him…but he loves you. HIS LOVE IS UNCONDITIONAL!

When sin came into the world (Genesis 3), man became separated from God. Before this, sin was not in the world. Man was separated from God because God hates sin. However, because God loves us, he gave is his son, Jesus, to die on the cross to become the perfect lamb that will be the sacrifice for our sins. But then, an awesome thing happened!! Jesus defeated death!!! Now, we are reconciled with God and through the Holy Spirit, given to us through the death and resurrection of Christ we have God within us!

Bible pounder!!!!!! OMG “break gods heart” REALLY. if there is such a thing as a “GOD” why is there so much evil. Why would GOD allow grown adults to torture and rape innocent children. You need to get your head out of your bible ass and get back into reality. So tired of hearing “GOD HAS A PLAN” for us all. REALLY to allow killings, natural disasters, murders, rapes etc etc. Christians commit more crimes then non believers so what does that tell you. You go praise the bible on sundays and monday rolls around and your back to lying, committing crimes, etc. Your phonies

I don’t why God allows terrible things to happen. I wish I had an answer for you but I don’t. You don’t want to hear “God has a plan that we don’t know about.” and I get that. It sounds made up. That is why we “believe” that He makes all things work together for good for those who love Him. There is no other answer. We don’t know why bad things happen. So, go ahead, eat this answer up.

“You go praise the bible on sundays and monday rolls around and your back to lying, committing crimes, etc. Your phonies”

–Exactly!! We are imperfect! (Sins happen on Sunday too though.)

“Christians commit more crimes then non believers so what does that tell you. ”

–Cool that you were able to find a statistic on this…Whether this is true or it’s 50-50 or whatever, I’d say that we’re all sinners and sometimes it overcomes us. Forgiveness is key.

Listen closely here: Being a Christ follower DOES NOT make us above sin, crime, etc. We are still human. We are not better than Atheists. We just believe in God.

God gives us free will. All of us. Most of you on here choose not to believe in God. However, it does take away the fact that He exist and is all powerful. God promises that one day we will all be believers but for you athiests, it will be too late. You will stand before, believe in Him as the true and living God and then you’ll be casted from Him forever. So don’t worry, you can stop the jokes because you will get exactly what you desire…..eternity away from God and His children. It’s unfortunate that you’ll be paying for your sins forever with the devil. You may not believe he’s real either, but I promise you that you will.

I promise you that Lord Voldemort is the true “the chosen one” – but that’s just a baddie in a book written by a person a few thousand days ago. She also made a lot of money, just like those who sell and promote the bible. Why does “god” need money? He should use his unlimited powers to make it so that christians don’t need money to promote his “kingdom”.

Lol. Then what about those “backsliders”? Being in a church service and told what is this and what is that, and eventually realising it’s bullshit means the devil is stronger than “god”. I don’t want a man standing up in a pulpit to tell me what to think and do and be. I want “god” to do it, so why doesn’t “god” speak to me DIRECTLY? “You have to read the bible and meditate on it.” I read Wikiapaedia entries and meditate – think, consider, try and understand and apply things – does that mean the authour of each entry is speaking directly to me? My question was why doesn’t “god” speak to me directly, meaning speak to me directly, not INdirectly via a book.

What’s so loving about giving yourself to christ and having him never contact you?* It’s a very one-sided “loving” “relationship”, isn’t it? YOU have to go to church. YOU have to pray. YOU have to fast. YOU have to give money to the tax-collectors who take advantage of people believing in a faerie tale. YOU have to cry and beg and plead and be a slave for your “loving” “god” to do anything – that which it doesn’t do. YOU have to do everything. All “god” does is nothing. Some “loving” relationship that is.

It’s not a beautiful thing. All the time I hear christians saying “it’s beautiful”. So is chaos; it’s a beautiful mess.

      * – by the way, the site “didioffendyou” is a coincidence; it was an image search result. Coincidence, something christians thank “god” for when a “miracle” happens. Why doesn’t “god” heal amputees – including by coincidence?

God is omnipotent and omniscient. Things could be a lot worse if He allowed evil to fully have full reign over earth and one day He will.

God gave humans free will. At the beginning there was no sin in that humans knew about. Adam and eve had a choice, like we all do to obey God and continue being in full relationship With Him or not to. Sin separates us from His love. That’s what we chose as people and sense then we continue to ex Him out of things like school, government, relationship, etc so things are getting worse. God isn’t a servant to people. He created us and knows what’s best for us. We don’t know what’s best for us. Those who create something knows how the thing should operate at its fullest capacity. We, as prideful humans, were created, and then started telling God what was best for us….how does creation know? That’s foolishness. But we as people are dumb and arrogant. God gives us free will and we exercise it. He gives it to everyone. You use yours to deny His existence and someone else may use it to kill. God gave it to us so that we could love Him freely or not. Without it, we would have been programmed to love which isn’t live at all. God know best. We don’t and we have earth the way that it is….not God….we need to take responsibility for our choices. Not deny Gods goodness and power and existence and when things happen blame Him. Blame people. One day this will come to an end and God will TAKE complete control once He destroys all evil and evil doers.

“‘god’ gave humans free will”, did it? I didn’t want god to give me free will – that is forcing me to have free will. That sounds like an impossible conundrum to me. It also sounds like “god” forced me to do things, which I am sure is a violation. “god” raped me – no, not sexually because rape doesn’t always have to be sexual, but it forced me to have free will. Thanks, “god” for forcing yourself onto me. Bastard.

Instead of wasting your time on those foolish queations, you need to figure out how you’re getting to heaven with your sins not being forgiven. God doesn’t all sin in heaven. Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins, we now must believe in what He did and accept Him as Lord and Savior. Then start to get to know Him and build a relationship with Him. You will have love, peace, joy, contentment and assurance that the God who made you is with you in a close relationship. Bad things will continue to happen because of evil choices people make but God promises and He’s kept His word to me and many others to help us through. He’s helped me through soooo much stuff that evil humans have done to me. People tried to destroy me, God healed me…it took time but I don’t need any medication or.drugs and I am clearly in my right mind and I have joy everyday. I love Him for his healing power and His live for me.

these remarks trying to defend your so called lunatic way of life, grabbing onto the crutch called religion because you are too weak to accept the truth of life is a sorry excuse for being mentally impaired. In reality religion is the reason for the pain and suffering around the world, check out the witch burning in Africa because some unfortunately mentally impaired missionary thinks he/she is helping a person. People are being killed and tortured on a daily basis because of religion. Wake the fuck up you morons for your so called “GOD” was put into place so that confused people who are overwhelmed by the idea of life and what it all means can make sense of it all by holding onto a fable that only halts our progression towards a cooperative world were people are not divided because there beliefs that have no basis just fairy tailes that influence everybody’s lives. So try reading something that actually has factual information about our world and why we are here, and not a book of fables that was put together in order to control a large populations of sub human species, and yes sub human refers to you bible thumping cunts who approach me trying to convert me to your insane way of life. Your mental capacity to make sense of it all only goes as far as that of a chimp. We will not be able to advance as a race until religion and all it’s followers are wiped off this planet.

I like to start off by asking Christians this simple question:

Do you believe that the Holy Bible is an accurate representation of what your God actually thinks?

The Holy Bible says that it is what it claims to be: Divinely inspired and supernatural in nature:
2 Timothy 3:16 ALL scripture is given by inspiration of god, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. KJV

If they are real Christians, they must respond with a yes (most of the time they will attach some psycho-babble BS to their response).

Unbeknownst to the Christian person(s) under scrutiny, you have just put them in an awkward position where they will be forced to recant, or at the very least re-evaluate, their cherished delusion that morality is objectively given by God.

    That’s when you ask them:
So, you believe genocide is moral?
So, you believe the ruthless murder of infants and pregnant women is moral?
So, you believe that slavery is moral?
So, you believe that women are below men?
    Etc, Etc,..

Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I CHANGE NOT;..
Not just the nice and fluffy, feel good verses in the Holy Bible, but the ENTIRE bible is (supposedly) divine in nature. The God of the Old Testament is the same exact God of the New Testament. This means that you cannot be intellectually dishonest and cherry-pick which verses to accept as true and holy, and then ignore all the passages that make you feel uncomfortable; or just scream that “You’re taking it out of CONTEXT!”

Well, according to the Holy Bible, God champions all of those things, and all other atrocious events. God even admits that He is the very source of all pain and suffering:
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create evil; I, the Lord, do ALL these things.
Amos 3:6 When a trumpet sounds in a city, do not the people tremble? When disaster comes to a city, has not the LORD caused it?
Lamentations 3:38 Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that both good and ill go forth?

Therefore, according to the Holy Bible, and confessions of Christians, The Judeo Christian God is the sole author & purveyor of morality & ethics:

He personifies the objective moral standards of the Universe.
His moral commands therefore, must be, and are, consistent with his HOLY & LOVING nature.

If you DO NOT BELIEVE genocide, the murder of infants and pregnant women, slavery, genitalia mutilation of children, etc., would be considered as moral acts; rather, you feel like they would be considered IMMORAL acts, then your defense argument is invalid. Because, after all, remember Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I CHANGE NOT.. The God of the OT is the same God of the NT.

The Christian has now professed that her/his ethics & morality stems from something other than the God of the bible. Christianity fails.

Also, here are a few more questions you can troll the Christian with:

If God Created Everything, Who Created God? If God can be eternal, why not the Universe?
What will happen to the people who have never heard of Jesus Christ? Will they all burn in hell?
What about atrocities that have been done in the name of religion?
A Loving God Would Not Send Billions of People to Hell, Would He? Would a loving God force people to spend eternity with Him?
Why Does God Hate Amputees or the millions of kids dying of starvation every year in Africa?
If God is Jealous Doesn’t That Make Him the Divine Hypocrite?
Wouldn’t it be possible for God to Provide ‘Partial Free Will’ and Eliminate All Evil?
Where was God During the World Trade Center Attack?
If God is Omnipotent (All Powerful) Why Did He Need to Rest on the Seventh Day?
Why Wouldn’t God Want Adam and Eve to Have Knowledge of Good and Evil?

Well, if you don’t believe in any sort of deity, then why get angry at those who do? Sounds to me like you believe, too, but you’re just angry people.

If you’re so secure in your non-belief, why troll others and waste everyone’s time?

I’m not atheist or anything, i just feel that most religions are very narrow minded, especially with all the facts that science is bringing out. and there is this one female who is as two faced as they come about her religion, christianity, i’m going to throw some of these in her face.

I find that saying Jesus was the false prophet God warned about and all who worship him will go to hell, is a particularly effective response when the bible folk knock on my door.

    Who created God?

If Christians think the Big Bang Theory is ridiculous because you can’t create something out of nothing, then God must have been created by something else which would then have superiority over God!

    …………Or it’s just a character from a book!
