"She is going through a very confused time and you certainly have tried to take benefit from her vulnerability."

..... Where as, religions only target those who are secure, confident, educated and financially stable.

If that girls priest or pastor tells her that Jesus will solve all her problems, put her mind at ease, and get the high school QB to ask her out, then that's doing exactly what you were accused of. If these parents truly believe that one should not prey on vulnerable targets, then they should allow their daughter to explore atheism if she so chooses (and not just because waking up late and watching football beats church, even if I do end up going to hell). The question these parents need to ask themselves is, why do we TRULY want our daughter to share our beliefs. Is it because we care and want to ensure her place in heaven? Or is it because there's no other foolproof way to control an adolescent than to have them immersed in a social and spiritual lifestyle; where to stop believing means losing all your friends, the respect of your family and the certainty that came with blind faith.

It is terribly arrogant of us as humans to pretend we understand the reasoning behind everything, and to think that an ever-expanding universe possibly full of much more significant things than our planet; was all made for us.

"When we are not there to keep her on the right path she will have a husband to do so."

I know there are some verses in the Bible, that refer to women as inferior too men but I didn't know there were people out there that still believe that women are just a piece of property to be passed from their father to their husband without a voice of their own. I'm only 19 myself, hopefully that girl gets out soon. She deserves more than this.

''God have mercy on your soul'' pfft yeah because i'm sure if ''God'' was real he/she/it would speak in the same manner as yourself. Besides, what shred of proof does she have against anyone to suggest that people were making advances towards her daughter and ''stalking'' them? People wonder why religion caused more harm than good.....

That is a scary individual.
Much like the real sex offenders (which you sir, definitely are not), that zealot is visually indistinguishable from a normal well balanced intelligent person. Until he opens his mouth.

The act of coming to his daughters defense is commendable unitl he threatens to destroy your life for answering her questions. That threat is surely a sign of insecurity in his own "beliefs". If he honestly did have his daughters best interest at heart he would simply show her how to argue the truth of her beliefs and not show her that threats are the first defense when confronted with a different idea.

I have no doubt he will be (if he is not already) in some social standing where he makes decisions for the community and the development of the children there.
