God is an emotionally/mentally laden term, so let us use a semi-random term like 'Eral'.

"It is impossible to prove whether or not Eral exists." becomes a fairly silly statement until we agree on the definition and/or characteristics of Eral. It is the characteristics (all powerful, all knowing, all good) usually attributed to Eral that are logically possible to disprove. Stripped of these characteristics is Eral still Eral?

If digits in PI spell out "Eral exists", then should I believe in Eral? How would I know for certain that Eral removed the doubt from my mind? I would still have a choice not to believe. Who said, to the effect, that advanced technology, applied to the primitive mind, appears as magic? Erals magical appearance and powers might just be advanced technology.

Just as I assert that there is no such thing as a square circle I also assert that there can not be entity with illogical characteristics.
