All very simple

From the IAmAnAtheist feedback form:

these questions are all very simple. if you’re going to claim that christianity is false you at least have to give a reason why. and if you know nothing about it or the Bible then how can you know if its false or not? im a Christian and im not here to bash anyone. but i’d expect more challenging questions from people who claim to have all the answers as to why the Bible is wrong. it takes just as much faith to believe God’s word to be wrong as it does for it to be right.

I’m not sure what questions you’re referring to, but if you have answers, I’m all ears.

In any case, I’m happy to give a reason that I think Christianity is false: given the evidence, it is much, much more likely that Christianity is false than that it is true. From my perspective, there is nothing close to compelling evidence that a deity exists, let alone that the Christian God in particular exists.

I don’t claim to have all the answers about the Bible. However, I am fairly familiar with it, having read several translations and more than 100 books about it. So far as I can see, it is pretty clearly a mix of history, folklore, urban legend, and religious delusion (not in equal parts).

As for your statement that it takes as much faith to believe that the Bible is false as it does to believe it is true, I’d say you are flat-out wrong. The only way I can see that you might be right is if you think that my belief is that there is nothing factual in the Bible, but that is not my belief. My belief is that the Bible is insufficient proof for a deity or for any supernatural occurrence. For what it’s worth, there is indeed some real history in there.

I’d be happy to hear from you if you have arguments or evidence that would strengthen your case.
