  • Don’t Ask

Although I welcome all honest inquiries about my philosophy and morality, there are a few questions that have been asked so often that I don’t have anything new to say about them. On this page, I list those questions (and will add new ones as needed).

    Are you male or female?

    I don’t discuss my gender.

Why don’t you say what your gender is?

In my experience, once gender becomes an issue it clouds discussion of religious philosophy for some people. Some people say that women do not have the moral authority to disagree with a man about religion. Some people say that men aren’t feeling enough to be in touch with the universe. For these and other reasons, I avoid discussing my gender. It’s a personal quirk and no big deal.

    What is your name?

I don’t discuss my name because I don’t want people’s impression of my work outside this site to color their perception of my beliefs. Like the gender issue, I’ve run into this enough before that I now want to steer clear of it.

Will you link to my Web site?

In general, no. If there is a legitimate reason for a URL to be part of a discussion, then I will include it, but I can be picky about that as well.

Will you put my philosophy essay on your site?

No. This is a place for discussion, not for the publication of papers in general.

Do you really believe that visiting IAmAnAtheist.com makes a person into an atheist?

    No. Do you?
