I have heard them say some pretty bad things about atheists and I don’t wat to lose my friends but I don’t want to lie anymore because everytime I say i’m Christian my stomache feels weird. In so doing, the atheist is claiming “there is no god”, whether expounding overtly or not.

Agnostics are unsure, and make no assertion one way or the other.

These notions of “weak” and “strong” atheism are not resolved in these simple definitions.

Being an atheist doesn’t mean you claim there is no God, you just don’t believe in one. This is “weak Atheism”. Many people think of it as Agnostic, but they’re really one in the same.

“Strong Atheism” is when you also claim there is no God. Most Atheists are Weak Atheists, not Strong.
